Got up at 9 and took the dogs on their morning potty break. It is a nice view where I parked. I fed the dogs and gave Pete his morning shot of insulin. I made coffee and oats for breakfast with toast and half a grapefruit. Eating basically the same thing every day may be a bit boring but it is easy to shop for.
After breakfast I got on the road for Paso Robles. Once there I found a Walmart and parked. I was surprised to see that there was a Burger King inside the Walmart, perfect. That is the only time I have ever seen that.
I really only needed bread, sangria and cookies but I shopped for a hand mirror as well. The cheapest I could find was $5 which was twice what I was willing to pay. I used the restroom then got on line and found a Dollar Tree a couple of miles away. I figured they would have a mirror there for, you guessed it, a dollar.
I went to the Burger King and ordered a medium coffee since they didn't have senior coffee. I just had the one cup since it wasn't that fresh as I updated my budget. I am definitely over budget in fuel. I hope that it comes down after the shortage caused by the annual spring blend change. If that is really even a thing. Of course the cost of fuel in California is always outrageous. The nearer to the coast the more fuel cost.
I love every area in California but it is very expensive to live here. No wonder so many people are leaving California and settling in places like Utah. That has had a negative impact on Utah for sure. They tend to bring their liberal politics which is the root cause of the problems they left California for. It has also resulted in the ever increasing cost of housing in Utah. I could not afford to buy a home in Utah now.
After coffee I went to check out. Since I was purchasing the sangria I had to go through a cashier checkout. Another stupid California law. Back in aRTy I made a ham and cheese sandwich for lunch. I always get very sleepy after I eat lunch and often lay down but seldom can I call asleep.
I secured everything and drove to the Dollar Tree. They didn't have a hand mirror that I liked but I did find a square mirror that was designed to be a candle holder. It will work fine until I can find a hand mirror in a second hand store.
I then drove a short distance to a Speedy Express gas station and fueled up. Unleaded 87 octane was 3.86 a gallon. After washing all the windows I got on Highway 101 headed North. In San Lucas I took 98 East then turned North again on 25. I drove until the sun was about to set and found a pull out to park for the night.
I nuked a can of beef stew for dinner then watched the fourth episode of Band of Brothers. I really like the series but I'm having a difficult time following all the characters I am aware of 4 or 5 that have been in all 4 episodes but I think there may be more.
I didn't have a cell connection so after the movie I crawled in the sleeping bag and called it a day.
